Referring Provider FAQ
What wounds should be referred to Hill Wound Care?
As a general guideline, any wound that does not show measurable signs of healing within 2 weeks, or has not completely closed in 6 weeks of conservative care, should be referred for advanced clinical wound evaluation and limb salvage.
Will our practice receive clinical updates on our referred patients?
Yes. Communication with referring physicians is central to our philosophy. Our clinic faxes initial evaluations, objective wound measurement photos, and weekly treatment summaries back to your office so you stay fully informed.
Do you assume overall medical management of the patient?
No. Hill Wound Care operates strictly as an outpatient wound and hyperbaric medicine specialist. Patients continue seeing their primary care physicians, podiatrists, endocrinologists, and surgeons for all non-wound medical management.
How fast will our referred patient be contacted?
Our Frisco intake staff contacts referred patients within 24-48 business hours of receiving records. Urgent consultations can be prioritized same-day or next-business-day.
